Propeller Change

Tools Required
Ensure the following tools are available
Remove the Propeller
Twist off the propeller plug and the O-ring
Loosen the hub screw using an M12 hexagon bit adapter (part no 84 14 79), n=10
Remove the propeller
Remove the shaft key, handling it by its ends
Oil Change
Drain the oil
Lay the mixer on two supports or suspend the mixer horizontally from an overhead crane.
Place a vessel under the mixer to hold the oil being drained.
Remove the drain plug and the filling plug to facilitate oil drainage.
Re-position the O-ring and the drain plug after oil has been drained.
Tighten the drain plug to the specified torque (10-20 Nm or 7.4-14.8 ft-lbs).
Fill the oil
Select the mixer working position and fill the required oil quantity
Fill with new oil through the appropriate hole based on mixer position.
Initial 1 Year Mixer Inspection
Safety Precautions
Disconnect and lock out power before servicing
Ensure only certified electricians and Xylem-authorized mechanics perform maintenance on EN/ATEX or FM-approved mixers
Pre-Inspection Requirements
Verify the following requirements are met
Inspection and Maintenance
Conduct a check-up by an authorized Xylem service representative
Document findings and determine intervals for periodical inspection and major overhaul

Disconnect and lock out power before servicing
Is the mixer EN/ATEX or FM-approved?
If EN/ATEX or FM-approved, ensure only certified electricians and Xylem-authorized mechanics perform maintenance
Pre-Inspection Requirements
Ensure the following requirements are met

Control and replace wear parts as necessary

Cable Inspection
Is the outer jacket of the cable damaged?
Replace the cable if the outer jacket is damaged.
Check that the cables do not have any sharp bends and are not pinched.
Check that the connections to power are properly tightened.
Check that the electrical cabinets are clean and dry.
Insulation Check
Measure the resistance between the earth (ground) and phase lead. Should be more than 5 megohms.
Conduct a phase-to-phase resistance check.
