Inspect all patient cables for signs of wear or damage

Check for cracks or cuts in the cable insulation and strain reliefs

Inspect for bent or corroded pins

Inspect each patient cable snap connector for corrosion

Remove any damaged cables from service

Replace damaged cables prior to returning the PIC to normal use

Check the electrode surfaces for pitting or deep scratches

Check the cable insulation for cuts or fraying

Check the connector end of the paddles for damaged or corroded connector pins

Check the latch for proper operation

Check for signs of heat damage, such as warpage or distortion of plastic parts

Notify PIC operators if heat damage is observed

Visual Inspection of Power Cord

Inspect the mains power cord for visible damage

Inspect the connector pins for bending

Is the power cord damaged and needs replacement?

Replace the damaged power cord if necessary

Inspection of Internal Paddle Electrodes and Cable

Inspect internal paddle electrodes for signs of damage or deterioration.

Check for cracking, chipping, or peeling of the electrode insulation.

Check for cuts or cracks in the cable insulation and handles.

Inspection of Cable Connector and Adapter

Inspect the cable connector casing for cracks or distortion.

Inspect for bent or corroded connector pins.

Is there any damage to the internal paddle adapter?

Notify PIC operators if the internal paddle adapter is damaged and not intended to be sterilized.

Inspect the unit for wear and damage

Clean away any foreign materials

Is there any fluid contaminant observed?

Verify that no corrosion of external or internal components has occurred

Replace any damaged component prior to returning the PIC to normal use
