VWR High Performance Pipettor 200µL

Disassemble the pipettor as described in chapter 12A - Maintenance.

Set aside the upper part in a clean, dry place.

Identify components that can be immersed in cleaning solution

Choose cleaning method for components

Degrease piston assembly and seals with isopropanol or ethanol before ultrasonic bath.

Use small round brushes with soft plastic bristles to clean the interior of the tip-holder.

Ensure the following parts are in place

Is the pipettor model 2µL or 10µL?

Unscrew the connecting nut by turning it clockwise

Carefully separate the lower and upper parts

Remove the piston assembly, O-ring, and seal

Ensure the pipettor is a single channel model

Check that the lubricant tube is available

Push laterally (to the left) the tip-ejector

Slide and remove the tip-ejector

Ensure the pipettor is a single channel model

Verify that the pipettor is not a 2µL or 10µL model

Wipe the tip-ejector with a soft-cloth or lint-free tissue impregnated with soap solution

Wipe the entire pipettor with a soft-cloth or lint-free tissue impregnated with soap solution

Use a brush with soft plastic bristles if the pipettor is very dirty

Wipe the entire pipettor and the tip-ejector with a soft cloth or lint-free tissue soaked with distilled water

Fit pipettor with VWR Pipette Tips

Set pipettor to maximum volume given in specifications

Leak Test for 2µL to 200µL Single Channel Models

Aspirate set volume from a beaker of distilled water

Maintain pipettor in vertical position and wait for 20 seconds

Did a water droplet appear at the end of the tip?

Re-immerse the tip below the surface of water. Did the water level inside the tip remain constant?
