Fit pipettor with VWR Pipette Tips

Set pipettor to the maximum volume given in the specifications

Leak Test for 2µL to 200µL Single Channel Models

Aspirate the set volume from a beaker of distilled water

Maintain the pipettor in the vertical position and wait for 20 seconds

Did a water droplet appear at the end of the tip?

Re-immerse the tip below the surface of water. Did the water level inside the tip remain constant?

Disassemble the pipettor as described in chapter 12A - Maintenance.

Set aside the upper part in a clean, dry place.

Immerse the following components in a cleaning solution

Clean the components using an ultrasonic bath (20 minutes at 50°C) or with a soft-cloth and brushes.

Degrease the piston assembly and seals with isopropanol or ethanol before ultrasonic bath.

Use small round brushes with soft plastic bristles to clean the interior of the tip-holder.

Place pipettors in the autoclave without using a bag

Set autoclave temperature to 121°C (252°F)

Set autoclave pressure to 1 atm

Set autoclave time to 20 minutes

Is the connecting nut fully tightened?

Tighten the connecting nut if it is not fully tightened

Unscrew the connecting nut by turning it clockwise

Carefully separate the lower and upper parts

Remove the piston assembly and the seals

Clean, sterilize, or replace the tip-holder

If necessary, lubricate lightly the piston and its seals

Ensure the following parts are available

Unscrew the connecting nut by turning it clockwise

Carefully separate the lower and upper parts

Remove the piston assembly, O-ring, and seal

Inspect the O-ring and seal for wear or damage
