Wheel Bearing Check
Preparation
Ensure the semi-trailer is empty
Release or turn off the brakes
Release all spring forces from the slack adjusters and cam shafts
Supply air to the spring brake chambers to relieve the spring forces

Leaf Spring Maintenance
Initial Setup
Ensure U-bolts are adjusted to the proper torque specification before delivery of the semi-trailer.
Regular Maintenance
Retorque U-bolts at the end of the first 1000 miles of operation.
Retorque U-bolts at regular maintenance intervals (at least every 4 months).
Check for broken spring leaves between the U-bolts.
Replace the spring if broken leaves are found between the U-bolts.

Verify if only one leaf of a multi-leaf spring is broken.

Ensure the vehicle has been unused for at least three hours
Locate the correct tire pressure on the tire information placard or in the owner's manual
