Ensure motor is turned off and locked out

Verify the type of grease compatible with the motor

Check if the motor has grease fittings

If grease fittings are present, replace grease plugs with grease fittings

Lubricate motor according to manufacturer's recommendations

Ensure not to over grease the motor

Ensure all routine maintenance is completed before taking vibration readings.

Record the current vibration readings.

Are there any major differences in vibration readings compared to initial startup?

Troubleshooting Vibration Issues

Identify potential causes of vibration problems

Describe the corrective actions taken to address the vibration issues.

Ensure the following conditions are met before lubrication

Is the blower running during lubrication?

Enter the number of grease shots applied

Enter the pressure used for lubrication (psi)

Did a slight bead of grease appear at the bearing seals?

Is the grease type compatible with the existing grease in the bearings?

Inspect blower parts for wear or structural damage

Is there any excessive vibration detected?

Inspect other airstream components for wear or damage

Select the method for balancing the blower wheel

If grinding, was care taken not to grind too much in one area?

Lock out the power source to the motor and let the wheel come to a complete stop.

Disconnect the inlet and/or discharge duct work from the blower, if necessary.

Remove the inlet side of the blower housing.

Measure and record the location of the blower wheel on the shaft.

Remove the locking hardware in the wheel hub and carefully remove the wheel.

Remove guards and loosen components

Remove the belt(s) and blower sheave.
