Ensure motor is turned off and locked out

Gather necessary tools and compatible grease

Identify motors with grease fittings

Are grease fittings installed on all motors?

Check motor speed and horsepower for lubrication frequency

Lubricate motor according to manufacturer's recommendations

Was the correct type of grease used?

Ensure all safety guards are properly attached and fully functional

Is the power to the blower turned off and locked-out if any guards are defective?

Inspect accessories for proper function within intended limits and design specifications

Refer to manufacturer's maintenance manuals for correct maintenance procedures

Have all defective parts been repaired or replaced and inspected by authorized personnel?

Inspect blower parts for wear or structural damage

Is there any excessive vibration due to unbalanced wheel?

Replace any worn or damaged airstream components if necessary

Select the method for balancing the blower wheel

Ensure balancing weights are welded to the wheel if applicable

Lock out the power source to the motor and let the wheel come to a complete stop.

Disconnect the inlet and/or discharge duct work from the blower, if necessary.

Remove the inlet side of the blower housing.

Measure and record the location of the blower wheel on the shaft.

Remove the locking hardware in the wheel hub and carefully remove the wheel.

Remove guards and loosen components

Remove the belt(s) and blower sheave.

Turn off and lock out power to the motor before starting any work.

Ensure the area around the blower is safe and secured before starting the motor.

Inspect and replace any worn or damaged components

Remove belt guard and open shaft access holes.

Remove protective coating from blower and motor shafts.

Adjust motor on slide base for belt tension adjustment.
