fuel tank, air filter, fuel filter: inspect/clean: replace, if necessary

idle adjusting screw: see ADJUSTING IDLING SPEED (p.12): replace carburetor if necessary

1. When the engine tends stop frequently at idling mode, turn the adjusting screw clockwise.

2. When the cutting head keeps rotating after releasing the trigger, turn the adjusting screw counter-clockwise.

• Warm up the engine before adjusting the idling speed.

cutting parts: replace if something's wrong

Warning: Inspect the muffler for loose fasteners, any damage or corrosion. If any sign of exhaust leakage is found, stop using the machine and have it repaired immediately.

Muffler clean and free of damage or corrosion

Spark arrester clean and free of red hot carbon

All screws, nuts, and bolts tightened or replaced

No oil or grease between the clutch lining and drum

Sign off on the maintenance check

The air filter must be regularly cleaned to remove dust and dirt in order to avoid:

• Unnecessary wear to engine parts

Clean the filter every 25 hours, or more regularly if conditions are exceptionally dusty. (MA2a)

Warning: Only trained personnel should perform this maintenance

Is the spark plug clean and functioning?

If spark plug is fouled, clean it and check the gap again

Is the replacement spark plug a NGK BPMR8Y?

Warning: Using any other spark plug may result in engine failure or damage

Is the spark plug installed correctly?
