1 Daily Bulk Melter External Cleaning
ATTENTION: Allow only qualified personnel to perform the following tasks. Follow the safety instructions here and in the entire documentation.
NOTE: Maintenance is an important preventive measure for maintaining operating safety and extending the service life of the unit. It should not be neglected under any circumstances.
Important when Using Cleaning Agents: Use only a cleaning agent recommended by the hot melt material manufacturer. Observe the Material Safety Data Sheet for the cleaning agent. Properly dispose of the cleaning agent according to local regulations.
External cleaning prevents pollution created by production from causing system malfunctions.
CAUTION: Observe the unit's Degree of Protection when cleaning. Refer to page 9‐1, Technical Data.
CAUTION: Do not damage or remove safety labels. Damaged or removed safety labels must be replaced by new ones.
Remove material residue only with a cleaning agent recommended by the material manufacturer. Heat with an air heater if necessary.
Remove dust, flakes etc. with a vacuum cleaner or a soft cloth.
Control Panel: CAUTION: Refer to page 4‐22, Screen Cleaning. This ensures that no functions are unintentionally triggered by touching the screen.
1 Daily Bulk Melter Inspection

Inspect for damage Power cable and Air hoses
ATTENTION: System and material pressurized. Relieve bulk melter pressure before disconnecting pressurized components (e.g. hoses, pressure sensors). Failure to observe can result in serious burns.
Switch off motor
Set selector Raise/lower platen to 0
Place a container under the nozzle(s) of the gun/assembly handgun
Guns: Activate the solenoid valve(s) electrically or manually; or, pull the trigger of the assembly handgun. Repeat this procedure until no more material flows out
Re-use the material or properly dispose of it according to local regulations
Sign off on the daily bulk melter inspection
1 Daily Fan and Air Filter Maintenance

Check dust accumulation in the fan and air outlet
Is dust accumulation severe?
If dust accumulation is severe, proceed with the following steps
Clean (knock out) the air filters in the fan and air outlet
Replace the air filters in the fan and air outlet if necessary
Refer to separate document Parts for filter order numbers.
Sign off on the daily fan and air filter maintenance
1 Daily Piston Pump Check

CAUTION: The motor may be operated only with lubricated compressed air.
Ensure that the lubricator (1) is filled
Ensure that the oil basin (2) is filled
Refill with Vitalizer Oil. Refer to page 5‐2, Processing Materials.
1 Monthly Bulk Melter Maintenance

NOTE: Maintenance is an important preventive measure for maintaining operating safety and extending the service life of the unit. It should not be neglected under any circumstances.
Heating and cooling that occur during daily operation can cause screwed parts to loosen, resulting in leakage.
Retighten the plug with a torque wrench. Enter the torque value (should be 20 Nm or 176 lbin)
Retighten the hose connection with a torque wrench. Enter the torque value (should be 25 Nm or 220 lbin)
NOTE: Retighten while the material is still soft (approx. 70 °C/158 °F, depending on the material);
Sign off on the monthly bulk melter maintenance
