Important when Using Cleaning Agents: Use only a cleaning agent recommended by the hot melt material manufacturer. Observe the Material Safety Data Sheet for the cleaning agent. Properly dispose of the cleaning agent according to local regulations.

External cleaning prevents pollution created by production from causing system malfunctions.

CAUTION: Observe the unit's Degree of Protection when cleaning. Refer to page 9‐1, Technical Data.

Inspect for damage Power cable and Air hoses

ATTENTION: System and material pressurized. Relieve bulk melter pressure before disconnecting pressurized components (e.g. hoses, pressure sensors). Failure to observe can result in serious burns.

Set selector Raise/lower platen to 0

Place a container under the nozzle(s) of the gun/assembly handgun

Guns: Activate the solenoid valve(s) electrically or manually; or, pull the trigger of the assembly handgun. Repeat this procedure until no more material flows out

Re-use the material or properly dispose of it according to local regulations

Sign off on the daily bulk melter inspection

1 Monthly Bulk Melter Maintenance

Heating and cooling that occur during daily operation can cause screwed parts to loosen, resulting in leakage.

Retighten the plug with a torque wrench. Enter the torque value (should be 20 Nm or 176 lbin)

Retighten the hose connection with a torque wrench. Enter the torque value (should be 25 Nm or 220 lbin)

NOTE: Retighten while the material is still soft (approx. 70 °C/158 °F, depending on the material);

Sign off on the monthly bulk melter maintenance
