1 Daily Spray Gun Maintenance
Point the spray gun into the booth and purge the spray gun
Shut off the system air supply and power
Disconnect the powder hose adapter and blow out the spray gun powder path
Disconnect the powder hose at the pump. Place the gun end of the hose inside the booth and blow out the hose from the pump end
Remove the nozzle and electrode assembly and clean them with low-pressure compressed air and clean cloths. If impact fusion is present on the nozzle parts, clean them using the Recommended Cleaning Procedure for Powder Contact Parts. Check the parts for wear and replace if necessary
Clean the gun face surface (where the electrode assembly attaches) with low pressure compressed air and a clean cloth
Blow off the gun and wipe it down with a clean cloth
Sign off on the daily spray gun maintenance
1 Daily Pump Maintenance
Disconnect the pump air hoses and remove the pump from the pickup tube
Disassemble the pump and clean all parts using low-pressure compressed air
If impact fusion is present on the parts, use the Recommended Cleaning Procedure for Powder Contact Parts to remove it
Replace any worn or damaged parts
Refer to the Encore Powder Pump manual for instructions and spare parts
Sign off on the pump maintenance
Powder Contact Parts Cleaning
WARNING: Allow only qualified personnel to perform the following tasks. Follow the safety instructions in this document and all other related documentation.
WARNING: Before performing the following tasks, turn off the controller and disconnect system power. Relieve system air pressure and disconnect the system from its input air supply. Failure to observe this warning may result in personal injury.
NOTE: Do not immerse the electrode assembly in solvent. It cannot be disassembled; cleaning solution and rinse water will remain inside the assembly.
Ultrasonic cleaner filled with BetaSolv or an equivalent emulsion cleaning solution at room temperature
Parts to be cleaned removed from the gun. O-rings removed. Parts blown off with low-pressure compressed air
NOTE: Do not allow the O-rings to come in contact with the cleaning solution.
Parts placed in the ultrasonic cleaner and cleaner run until all parts are clean and free of impact fusion
All parts rinsed in clean water and dried before re-assembling the spray gun. O-rings inspected and any damaged ones replaced
NOTE: Do not use sharp or hard tools that will scratch or gouge the smooth surfaces of powder contact parts. Scratches will cause impact fusion.
