Enter the pH value of the feed water

Enter the conductivity of the feed water

Enter the hardness of the feed water

Enter the oxygen content or surplus at oxygen binder of the feed water

Check for indications of oil content in water

Measure the concentration of chemical additives

Is the concentration of chemical additives within the acceptable range?

Document the results of the additive concentration test

Send a coolant sample to an independent laboratory or engine manufacturer for analysis

Coolant Replacement and System Cleaning

Is the coolant older than 3 years?

Ensure the following conditions are met before starting

Install the correct orifice for the actual engine size

Check the water flow in a bucket to ensure it is in the correct range (2 - 5 litres per minute)

Carry out sequential washing to drop exhaust gas temperature after turbine below 100°C

Ensure exhaust gas temperature increases to more than 100°C during drying period

Is the water flow so high that it does not evaporate completely?

Is the water flow low enough to prevent the turbine wheel from drowning and stopping?

Enter the copper content in the feed water

Enter the silicic acid level in the feed water

Verify the following parameters for steam turbines

Ensure the engine is switched off before starting the cleaning process.

Verify that all parts are free of rust and deposits

Use a suitable cleaning agent as per Engine – Work Instructions 010.000.001-01 and 010.000.002 04.

Flush the system thoroughly to remove loose solid matter.

Ensure cleaning agents do not corrode seals and materials of the cooling system.

Flush the cooling system thoroughly after cleaning.
