Measure the iron content in the boiler water

Measure the acid capacity of the boiler water up to pH 8.2

Measure the additive concentration in the boiler water

Is the iron content within the acceptable range?

Is the acid capacity up to pH 8.2 within the acceptable range?

Is the additive concentration within the manufacturer's specifications?

Document any deviations or observations

Ensure the engine is switched off before starting the cleaning process.

Verify that all parts are free of rust and deposits

Use a suitable cleaning agent as per Engine – Work Instructions 010.000.001-01 and 010.000.002 04.

Flush the system thoroughly to remove loose solid matter.

Ensure cleaning agents do not corrode seals and materials of the cooling system.

Flush the cooling system thoroughly after cleaning.

Examine the piping system for leaks

Retighten all bolts and nuts in the piping system

Move all valves and cocks in the piping system

Lubricate valve spindles with graphite or similar

Connection and Instrument Check

Check flexible connections for leaks and damages

Ensure all necessary equipment is available

Is the coolant within the specified parameters for water hardness, pH, and chloride content?

Record any deviations from the specified parameters

Ensure the engine is at full load before starting dry cleaning

Record the current exhaust gas temperature before the turbine

Set working air pressure between 5-7 bar

Select cleaning agents to be used

Measure the grain size of cleaning agents (1.0 mm to max. 1.5 mm)

Inject granules into the exhaust gas line before the gas inlet casing of the turbocharger
