Electric Motor Assembly/Disassembly
3.5 Disassembly and Reassembly of the Electric Motor
Ensure the motor is disconnected from the mains and prevent the pump from running up
Gather required tools
Disconnection and Support
Disconnect the mains connection
Support the motor
Disassembly Steps
Unscrew the four non-recessed hex. socket screws (11/5)
Remove the intermediate flange (11/4) together with the electric motor

Clean the pump thoroughly
Check individual components
Exchange all seals
Perform functional check
Ensure the check is run by Leybold service

Switch off the pump and disconnect from the mains to prevent inadvertent startup
Check for deposits and clean as required
Use brush and industrial vacuum cleaner for cleaning
Was the pump or motor cleaned before the maintenance interval due to overheating?
6 Monthly Internal Demister Cleaning
3.4 Removing and Fitting the Internal Demister
Shutdown the pump and drain the oil
Remove the six recessed screws on the oil case
Pull the oil case forward off the pump
Remove the gasket
Unscrew screw (10/1)
Remove small washer, spring, large washer, and O-ring
Lift off the frame and remove the internal demister
Clean all parts and check their condition
Pump Storage Maintenance
3.9 Storing the Pump
Store the pump in a dry place at room temperature (20 °C)
Properly disconnect the pump from the vacuum system
Purge the pump with dry nitrogen
Change the oil in the pump
Seal the inlets and outlets with shipping seals
Set the gas ballast switch to the '0' position
Seal the pump in a PE bag with desiccant if stored for a long period
Run standard maintenance if the pump has been shelved for over one year
