500 Hourly Wheel Loader Maintenance

WARNING: The parts and oil are at high temperature immediately after the engine is stopped, and may cause burns. Wait for the temperature to go down before starting the work.

When removing the oil filler cap, turn it slowly to release the internal pressure, then remove it.

Open the engine side cover on the right side of the chassis.

Place a container to catch the oil under drain plug (P).

Loosen drain plug (P), and drain the oil.

Check the drained oil, and if there are excessive metal particles or foreign material, please contact your Komatsu distributor.

Lubricating

Using a grease pump, pump in grease through the grease fittings marked by the arrows.

After greasing, wipe off any old grease that was pushed out.

NOTICE: When working on jobsites where heavy-duty operations are frequent or when working continuously for more than eight hours, shorten the lubrication interval and carry out lubrication more frequently. For the initial 50 hours, carry out lubrication every 10 hours.

When carrying out greasing of bucket pin (1), lift arm pivot pin (5), and bell crank pin (6), set the work equipment to the following posture.
