Electrical Connections and Fan Maintenance

Tighten all electrical connections

Is the coil defrosting completely?

Check the operation of the control system

Ensure the main disconnect switch is in the OFF position before cleaning

Remove all accumulations from the condenser

Clean the condenser with a brush

Use a vacuum cleaner to remove remaining debris

Is the condenser operating in an unusually dusty location?

If yes, describe the conditions and adjust cleaning schedule accordingly

Electrical Connections Inspection

Check that all electrical connections are tight

Are all electrical connections secure?

Refrigerant Connections Inspection

Inspect refrigerant connections for looseness

Have any refrigerant connections loosened?

Is it necessary to add refrigerant?

Perform a leak check on all refrigerant connections if refrigerant was added

Check the oil level in the motor-compressor crankcase sight glass

Is the oil level at the center of the sight glass?

Add oil to bring the level up to the center if necessary

Take an oil sample for quality check

Perform a visual examination of the compressor oil

Conduct an acid test to measure contamination extent

Contamination and Pressure Check

Ensure the electrical power to the heaters is turned off

Disconnect heater leads on both ends of the heater to be removed

Remove the sheet metal screws holding the heater retainer to the heater plate on the electrical connection end of the unit

Pull the heater(s) to be replaced out of the tube holes in the coil

Lower the drain pan to remove the bottom heater

Uncoil about one foot of the straight end of the replacement heater
