Is the unit cooler defrosting properly?

Is the coil defrosting completely?

Check for faulty defrost heaters

Electrical and Mechanical Inspection

Tighten all electrical connections

Ensure the main disconnect switch is in the OFF position before starting the cleaning process.

Remove all accumulations from the condenser

Clean the condenser with a brush.

Use a vacuum cleaner to remove remaining debris.

Is the condenser free from all dust and debris?

Describe any issues found during cleaning.

Ensure the electrical power to the heaters is turned off

Disconnect heater leads on both ends of the heater to be removed

Remove the sheet metal screws holding the heater retainer to the heater plate on the electrical connection end of the unit

Pull the heater(s) to be replaced out of the tube holes in the coil

Lower the drain pan to remove the bottom heater

Uncoil about one foot of the straight end of the replacement heater

Check the oil level in the motor-compressor crankcase sight glass

Is the oil level at the center of the sight glass?

Oil Addition and Cause Correction

Add oil to bring the level up to the center of the sight glass if necessary

Describe the cause of oil migration and corrective actions taken

Expansion Valve and System Check

Electrical Connections Inspection

Check all electrical connections for tightness

Are all electrical connections tight?

Describe any issues found with electrical connections

Refrigerant Connections Inspection

Inspect refrigerant connections for looseness

Are all refrigerant connections secure?

Is there a need to add refrigerant?

Perform a leak check on all refrigerant connections if refrigerant was added
