Ensure the electrical power to the heaters is turned off

Disconnect heater leads on both ends of the heater to be removed

Remove the sheet metal screws holding the heater retainer to the heater plate on the electrical connection end of the unit

Pull the heater(s) to be replaced out of the tube holes in the coil

Lower the drain pan to remove the bottom heater

Uncoil about one foot of the straight end of the replacement heater

Check the oil level in the motor-compressor crankcase sight glass

Is the oil level at the center of the sight glass?

Add oil to bring the level up to the center of the sight glass if necessary

Take an oil sample for quality inspection

Perform a visual examination of the compressor oil

Conduct an acid test to measure contamination extent

Contamination and Pressure Check

Ensure the main disconnect switch is in the OFF position

Remove all accumulations of dust, leaves, and other debris using a brush

Use a vacuum cleaner to clean the condenser

Is the condenser located in an unusually dusty location?

If yes, schedule more frequent cleanings as needed

Electrical Connections and Fan Maintenance

Tighten all electrical connections

Coil and Control System Maintenance

Check the operation of the control system

Electrical Connections Inspection

Check that all electrical connections are tight

Are all electrical connections secure?

Refrigerant Connections Inspection

Inspect refrigerant connections for looseness

Is there any need to add refrigerant?

Was a leak check performed on all refrigerant connections?
