Loosen cap screws (4) and remove covers (5) to open checking port

Check belt regularly for wear. Replace if necessary

Check belt tension with belt tension gauge at midway between alternator (2) and fan pulley (1)

If fan belt deflection (3) is not within specification, loosen adjusting cap screw (6) and mounting cap screw (7)

Move alternator until tension is correct

Tighten cap screws and install covers

Engine shut off and oil drained into oil pan for 10 minutes.

Dipstick fully seated.

Oil level checked on dipstick.

Oil level in the cross-hatch area before engine start.

Oil level above the ADD mark after engine run.

Park machine on a level surface with arm cylinder fully retracted and bucket cylinder fully extended. Lower bucket and blade to ground.

Stop engine.

Check mark

Slowly loosen hydraulic tank filler cap (7) to release hydraulic pressure. Remove cap.

Check mark

Loosen cap screws (1) to remove filter cover (2) and O-ring (3).

Check mark

Hold down filter cover against light spring load when removing cap screws.

Check mark

Remove spring (4), valve (5), and filter element (6).

Check mark

Discard element and O-ring.

Check mark

Install new filter element, valve, and spring.

Check mark

Fill new filter with oil. See Hydraulic Oil. (Section 3-1.)
