Disconnect all electrical power to the fan and secure to the 'off' position.

Ensure the unit is made non-functional by removing fuses and locking off the disconnect.

Inspect the wheel and housing for oil and dust accumulation.

Is there any oil or dust accumulation on the wheel or housing?

Clean the wheel and housing evenly to prevent imbalance.

Is the wheel balanced after cleaning?

Lubrication Frequency Assessment

Select the type of service environment

Ensure the use of a good quality lithium base grease, conforming to NLGI Grade 2 consistency

Is the lubrication process completed successfully?

Check for unusual environmental conditions

Is more frequent lubrication required due to environmental conditions?

Is the motor amperage and voltage compatible with the supply voltage?

Route electrical supply through conduit chase

Does the wiring conform to local and national codes?

Disconnect and secure all electrical power to the fan.

Ensure the unit is non-functional by removing fuses and locking off the disconnect.

Are you a qualified personnel familiar with local codes and regulations?

Are grease fittings provided on the motor?

Record the current motor temperature.

Is the motor temperature below 104ºF (40ºC)?

Disconnect and secure all electrical power to the fan to the 'off' position

Fasteners and Setscrews Inspection

Check all fasteners and setscrews for tightness

Does the wheel rotate freely and is it aligned as shown in Figure 5?

Is wheel position correct after shipment?

Adjust wheel and inlet cone overlap by loosening setscrews and moving the wheel to the desired position if necessary
