Ensure refrigerant is maintained at a high level in the flask
Check for obstructions in the refrigerant add tube
Trap Saturation Check
Monitor pressure in the vacuum system for increase
Is the pressure indicating trap saturation?
Trap Cleaning Procedure
Disconnect the trap from the system
Allow the trap to warm up
Shaft Seal Replacement
Preparation
Drain the oil from the pump
Remove the pump pulley and key
Old Seal Removal
Remove screws securing the old seal
Pry the old seal loose with a screwdriver or similar wedge
Discard the old seal and its gasket
Inspection and Cleaning
Inspect all surfaces for damage
3 Monthly Oil Change
Oil Level Check
Check the oil level
Is the oil level above the fill mark?
Initial Pump Run
Do you suspect contaminants have damaged the mechanism?
Run the pump for 15 minutes to warm up the oil
Oil Draining and Inspection
Turn off motor for the vacuum pump
Drain the oil into a clear plastic container

Check for oil discoloration
Check if oil level is rising

Was there any change in oil color or level?
