Wash the ice container in warm water with mild detergent

Dry the ice container thoroughly

Ensure the ice container is not placed in the dishwasher

Stop the ice maker when cleaning the freezer

Stop the ice maker during vacations

If the ice maker will be turned off for a long period, turn the water supply valve to the closed position

Ensure the wire signal arm is in the correct position

Place the ice container under the ice maker and push it as far back as possible

Lower the wire signal arm to the 'down' or ON position

Are the first ice cubes discolored or have an odd flavor?

Inspect the door gaskets for the following conditions

Clean dirty gaskets with soap and water and a clean soft cloth

Replace worn, cracked, or poorly fitted gaskets

Ensure refrigerator doors are closed for 8 to 12 hours before loading with food

Set refrigerator and freezer controls to initial setting

Adjust controls as needed after 24 hours

Discard ice made during the first 24 hours (if ice maker equipped)

Unplug the electrical power cord from the wall outlet

Mix 2 tablespoons of baking soda in 1 quart of warm water

Clean interior and door liner with prepared solution or soap and water

Wring excess water out of sponge or cloth before cleaning around controls, light bulb, or any electrical part
