Defrost Water Pan Cleaning Procedure

Ensure the refrigerator is unplugged

Wipe the water pan with a damp cloth

Unplug the electrical power cord from the wall outlet

Wring excess water out of sponge or cloth before cleaning around controls, light bulb, or any electrical part

Wipe door gaskets with a clean soft cloth and soap and water

Clean drawers and bins with soap and water

Ensure glass shelves are at room temperature before immersing in warm water

Applies to fan-cooled models only

Is the refrigerator operating under dusty or greasy conditions, or is there significant pet traffic in your home?

Use an extended vacuum attachment to remove dust build-up from the condenser coils

Use a condenser cleaning brush to remove dust build-up from the condenser coils

Is the condenser cleaning brush available from your dealer?

Enter the current temperature of the fresh food compartment

Is the fresh food compartment temperature within the optimal range (34°F - 40°F)?

Enter the current temperature of the freezer compartment

Is the freezer compartment temperature at 0°F or lower?

Adjust the temperature settings if necessary

Wait 24 hours before making additional adjustments

Wash the ice container in warm water with mild detergent

Rinse the ice container well and dry

Ensure the ice container is not placed in the dishwasher

Stop the ice maker when cleaning the freezer and during vacations

Turn the water supply valve to the closed position if the ice maker will be turned off for a long period of time
