Enter the current temperature of the fresh food compartment

Is the fresh food compartment temperature within the optimal range (34°F - 40°F)?

Enter the current temperature of the freezer compartment

Is the freezer compartment temperature at 0°F or lower?

Adjust the temperature settings if necessary

Wait 24 hours before making additional adjustments

Vacuum dust from the front of the toe grille

Remove the toe grille (see illustration on page 4)

Vacuum the backside of the toe grille

Wipe with a sudsy cloth or sponge

Ensure the following initial conditions are met

Plumbing Connection and Water Supply

Place the ice container under the ice maker and push it as far back as possible

Lower the wire signal arm to the 'down' or ON position

Are the first produced ice cubes free of discoloration and odd flavor?

Ensure refrigerator doors are closed for at least 8 to 12 hours before loading with food

Set refrigerator and freezer controls to the recommended initial setting (mid-point arrow position)

Have the controls been adjusted as needed after 24 hours?

Discard ice made during the first 24 hours due to possible discoloration or odd flavor from new plumbing connections (if ice maker equipped)

Wash the ice container in warm water with mild detergent

Dry the ice container thoroughly

Ensure the ice container is not placed in the dishwasher

Stop the ice maker when cleaning the freezer

Stop the ice maker during vacations

Turn the water supply valve to the closed position if the ice maker will be turned off for a long period of time
