Lubrication of Dodge Fan Bearings — Spherical Roller Bearing, Solid Pillow Block

Determine re-lubrication schedule based on shaft diameter and speed (RPM)

Is it safe to re-lubricate while running?

Re-lubricate while running until some purging occurs at seals, if safe

Adjust lubrication frequency based on condition of purged grease

Double lubrication frequency for 24-hour operation

Lubricate with a multipurpose roller bearing NLGI No. 2

Lubricate bearings prior to extended shutdown or storage

Refer to motor manufacturer for lubrication recommendations

Remove grease drain plugs and operate motor for 15 minutes before replacing plugs

Ensure not to over grease the motor

Select the motor lubrication interval based on service hours per day

Check if the motor runs in severe conditions and grease as specified by the manufacturer

Electric Heat — Electrical Inspection

Check and tighten all electrical connections

Note any issues found during inspection

Check set screws for looseness on the shaft

Tighten loose set screws where required

Refer to Table I for Bearing Setscrew Torques by shaft diameter and bearing manufacturer
