Measure the oil’s operating temperature

Is the oil level at the center of the lower-most roller?

Perform complete lubrication change

Check and tighten all electrical connections

Note any issues found during inspection

Refer to motor manufacturer for lubrication recommendations

Remove grease drain plugs and operate motor for 15 minutes before replacing plugs

Ensure not to over grease the motor

Recommended Motor Lubrication Intervals for motors up to 7.5 HP (5.6 kW)

For motors in severe conditions, grease as specified by the motor manufacturer

Check set screws for looseness on the shaft

Tighten set screws where required

Record any issues found during the check

Refer to bearing manufacturers’ literature for torque specifications

Determine re-lubrication schedule based on shaft diameter and speed (RPM)

Is the unit operating at 24 hours?

Lubricate with multipurpose roller bearing NLGI No. 2

Re-lubricate while running if safety permits

Adjust lubrication frequency based on purged grease condition

Lubricate bearings prior to extended shutdown or storage

Rotate shaft monthly to aid corrosion protection
