Check if the fan bearings are permanently lubricated sealed ball bearings

Is the bearing temperature under 120°F (50°C)?

Select the shaft diameter for grease quantity

Use lithium base lubricant only

Ensure not to overgrease the bearings

Refer to the fan and/or bearing manufacturers’ literature for additional information

Check set screws for looseness on the shaft

Tighten loose set screws where required

Record any issues or observations during the check

Is the bearing temperature under 120°F (50°C)?

Is the environment dusty and wet?

Is the bearing temperature under 158°F (70°C)?

Select shaft diameter for grease quantity

Use lithium base lubricant for greasing

Ensure not to overgrease the bearings

Select the shaft diameter and speed (RPM) for lubrication schedule

Is it safe to re-lubricate while running?

Re-lubricate while running until some purging occurs at seals

Adjust lubrication frequency based on purged grease condition

Select the grease type used for lubrication

Lubricate bearings prior to extended shutdown or storage

Select the shaft diameter for grease quantity

Is the bearing temperature under 120°F (50°C) in a dusty environment?

Is the bearing temperature under 158°F (70°C) in a clean environment?

Was the bearing greased with a lithium base lubricant?

Was the bearing greased while rotating slowly?
