Warning: Only trained personnel should perform this procedure.

If the system is not operational, report the issue to the maintenance team and stop the procedure.

Is there any oil leak in the system?

If there is an oil leak, repair work is necessary.

Enter the amount of oil added to the system.

Upload a photo of the hand pump connected to the backseat port of the valve.

Is the compressor oil exposed to moisture?

If the compressor oil is exposed to moisture, take necessary precautions.

Warning: This procedure requires trained personnel with PPE!

Enter the leaving water temperature

Enter the saturated refrigerant temperature

Calculate the approach temperature (subtract saturated refrigerant temperature from leaving water temperature)

Note: Daikin's high efficiency heat exchangers have very low design approach temperatures, in the order of one to one and one half degrees F.

Is the approach temperature within the normal range?

If not, excessive tube fouling could be present.

Enter the condenser pressure drop

Maintenance of the refrigerant cycle

Record the condenser water temperature

Record the chiller water temperature

Record the suction line temperature at the compressor

Calculate the suction superheat by subtracting the saturated temperature equivalent of the suction pressure from the suction line temperature

Note any extreme changes in subcooling and/or superheat over a period of time

Clean Oil Cooler Strainer (water)

Upload the results of the Oil Analysis

Oil filter change and compressor teardown and inspection should be done based on the results of the annual oil test performed by a company specializing in this type of test.

Enter the recommendations from Daikin Service

Sign off on the lubrication system maintenance

Warning: Do not use oxygen or a mixture of R-22 and air to build up pressure as an explosion can occur causing serious personal injury.

Enter the initial pressure of the system in psig

Enter the pressure after adding refrigerant in psig

Enter the pressure after adding dry nitrogen in psig

Did the electronic leak detector find any leaks?

If leaks are found in welded or brazed joints, or it is necessary to replace a gasket, relieve the test pressure in the system before proceeding.

Were any leaks found in welded or brazed joints?

Was it necessary to replace a gasket?

After making any necessary repair, the system must be evacuated as described in the following section.
