Prepare the computer for disassembly

Remove the palmrest cover with touch pad

Remove the display panel assembly

Remove the screw from the diskette drive and lift up the diskette drive

Prepare the computer for disassembly

Close the computer and turn the computer upside down

Remove screws from the bottom of the computer

Turn the computer over and open the display assembly

Lift up and remove the palmrest cover with touch pad

Disconnect the flex cable from the LIF connector

Ensure cable is fully inserted into the LIF connector when replacing

Ensure cable is properly routed through the slot on the Upper CPU cover when replacing

Prepare the computer for disassembly

Remove the following components

Lift the fan assembly from the chassis slot

Disconnect the fan cable from the connector on the system board

Prepare the computer for disassembly

Remove the following components

Remove the memory module from the system board

Disconnect the speaker assembly cables

Remove five standoffs from the system board

Remove two screws from the DVD or CD Drive mounting rails and remove the mounting rails from the system board

Prepare the computer for disassembly

Remove the palmrest cover with touch pad

Insert a small blade screwdriver into the bottom slot opening on the processor and push toward the display to release the processor from the chassis slot

Lift the processor out of the processor chassis slot
