Brake Gap Inspection and Adjustment

Measure the gap between the brake armature 'A' and the field 'B'

Is the gap within the acceptable range (0.015" to 0.040")?

Adjust the gap using a 9/16" socket on the 3 locknuts 'F' if necessary

Check with a feeler gauge to ensure the gap is the same on both ends of the solenoid
