Lower the load block to desired point ensuring slack-end loop of the chain hangs down 6" or more from the hoist housing

Ensure minimum clearance of 1½" between the chain stop and bottom of hoist

Disconnect hoist from power supply

Adjustment of Lower Limit Switch

Pry the spring guide plate out of the slots in the limit switch nuts using a screwdriver

Determine inspection frequency based on

Perform frequent inspections (daily to monthly)

Perform periodic inspections (monthly to yearly)

Was the inspection overseen by a designated inspector?

Were special inspections conducted after significant repairs?

Were special inspections conducted after any operating occurrence that may impair the hoist's capability?

Inspect hooks for the following issues

Are any hooks showing signs of cracking, extreme wear, or spreading?

Is the throat opening spread wider than the maximum permissible 15% increase?

Is any hook bent or twisted more than 10 degrees from the plane of an unbent hook?

Do the hook latches close the hook throat opening securely when a load is applied?

Inspect the hook shank and nut for any stripping of the threads or other damage.

Is the hook nut fully restrained by the retaining pin?

Disconnect hoist from power supply

Reconnect the leads to the terminal blocks according to the wiring diagram

Ensure no wires are moved or changes made to the electrical circuit except at the terminal block assembly

Tug on wires to ensure they are securely connected

Clean the load chain with acid-free solvent

Coat the load chain with SAE 90 gear oil

Wipe excess oil to prevent dripping

Was grease applied to the chain?
