Bobcat Loader 640

Check Ignition System plugs, points and timing — replace faulty parts (gasoline only)

Empty spark chamber of Spark Arrestor Muffler

Change filter of Hydraulic/Hydrostatic System (440's and 540's Only)

Drain hot engine oil and change filter

Change filter on 843 hydraulic system

Replace final fuel filter element

Grease drive line U-joint with approved recommended grease

Grease seat bar pivot as needed

Lubricate steering bushings with multi-purpose lithium-based grease

Add oil or grease to the shaft of steering lever

Replace Hydrostatic Filter (640's, 740's and 843 Only)element

Also replace if transmission warning light in dash panel comes on and stays on for five (5) minutes after hydrostatic fluid is at operating temperature

Sign off on the loader maintenance

Check the hydraulic fluid level

Check the Chaincase fluid level

Check controls and brakes operation, adjust if needed

(440B S/N 25000 & Above) drain hot Engine Oil and Filter

Change bronze hydraulic filter if so equipped

Clean Primary Fuel Filter sediment bowl

Replace Hydraulic Reservoir Breather Cap

Drain Hydraulic Reservoir fluid and replace every 1000 hours or every 12 months

Drain Chaincase fluid and replace every 1000 hours or every 12 months

Sign off on the loader maintenance

Check level of Engine Oil, do not overfill

Empty dust cap of engine air filter, change element if needed

Clean debris from cooling fins, shrouds and grills, check coolant level cold, add 50-50 ethylene glycol-water as needed to Engine Cooling System

Check fan and pump drive belts for condition and tension

Lubricate loader lift arm and cylinder pivot points with multi-purpose lithium base

Check inflation pressure of tires, FLOTATION - 35 PSI (241 kPa), STANDARD AND 8 PLY RATING - 50 PSI (340 kPa), 5.70 x 12 - 40 PSI (275 kPa), inspect tires for cuts

Check engine air system for leaks and damaged components

Check for loose or broken parts, damaged seat belt or operator cab, instrument operations, loose wheel nuts, oil leaks

Check Seat Belt/Seat Bar and Control Interlocks function. Repair or replace as needed. Clean dirt and debris from moving parts
