Initial Open Loop Controller Stopping Reaction Testing
Preparation
Ensure the following are in place
Stopping Mode Selection
Select the STOPPING MODE
Stopping Reaction Time Configuration
Enter the desired STOPPING REACTION time (max 5.000 seconds)
Is the STOPPING REACTION time within the acceptable range?
Testing and Verification
Run a test cycle to verify the STOPPING REACTION time
Initial Open Loop Controller Boost Reaction Testing
Preparation
Ensure all safety protocols are in place
Verify that the system is powered on and operational
Boost Reaction Time Adjustment
Record the current BOOST REACTION TIME setting
Is the leading edge of the part pushing the die and deforming its shape?
Is the die causing the material to pull or tear apart?
Adjust the BOOST REACTION TIME to match the die speed with the material speed at the time of the cut
Verification
Initial Open Loop Controller Shear Reaction Testing
Preparation
Set the SHEAR REACTION time to zero
Is there a die boost on the shear die?
Disable die boost by disconnecting the wire on the output of the controller
Slow the line speed to avoid metal jamming in the shear die
Shear Cycling and Part Production
Cycle the shear
Run two parts
Mark the parts
Initial Open Loop Controller Correction Factor Testing
Run and Measure Parts
Run ten parts of equal lengths (e.g., 120 inches)
Measure the length of each of the ten parts
Calculate Average Length
Calculate the sum of all ten part lengths
Divide the total length by ten to find the average length
Determine New Correction Factor
Calculate the new CORRECTION FACTOR using the formula
Is the new CORRECTION FACTOR within acceptable range?
Initial Open Loop Controller Deceleration Factor Testing
Preparation
Ensure the machine is powered off before starting the procedure.
Verify that the controller is properly connected to the machine.
Deceleration Factor Mode Selection
Select the DECEL FACTOR MODE
Testing in AUTO Mode
Is the DECEL FACTOR automatically maintained by the controller?
Record the DECEL FACTOR value in In/Sec2.
Testing in MANUAL Mode
