Clean all piping of dirt and scale by hammering on the outside of the pipe.

Blow out loose particles from the piping.

Have all gas lines external to the unit been purged of air?

Review installation for errors, leaks, or undesirable effects

Calculate new datum diameter (DD)

Adjust the variable pitch motor sheave to the new DD

Verify blower speed changes adhere to fan laws

Check for changes in static pressure and BHP

Confirm AMP draw of the blower motor is within limits

Record any issues or observations

Connect a manometer to the outlet pressure port on the gas valve to monitor the manifold pressure

Remove cover screws covering HI and LO pressure adjustment screws

Second Stage Pressure Adjustment

Set thermostat to call for second stage heat and start furnace

Is the second stage manifold pressure within 3.5 IWG ± 0.3?

Close main manual shut-off valve

Open the union fitting upstream of the unit gas valve and downstream from the main manual shut-off valve

Remove screws holding each end of the manifold to the manifold supports

Disconnect wiring to the gas valve

Remove the manifold & gas valve assembly

Ensure all necessary safety equipment is worn

Verify that the main shut-off valve is closed before starting

Use a special pipe dope for assembling wrought iron or steel pipe

Select the compound used for assembly

Open the main shut-off valve to admit normal gas pressure
