Lift a load equal to 125% of the crane's rated load (capacity)

Ensure the load is entirely supported by the crane

Transport the load the full usable length of the I-beam

Ensure compliance with ASME B30.17 standard

Verify that inspections and repairs are performed by qualified persons

Examine the I-Beam for bends, cracks, and other damage

Verify beam clamps and fasteners are properly secured and lock washers are fully compressed

Inspect beam brackets for cracks, elongations, warps, and bends

Check casters for cracks, warps, tears, grooves, pitting, and wear

Ensure you have the most current revision of ASME B30.17

Inspect beam clamps and beam clamp fasteners

Use a torque wrench to tighten each bolt and nut to 50-52 ft∙lb

Examine all clamps for damage such as deformations and cracks

Check that the I-beam flange is solidly clamped to the tops of the uprights
