50 Hourly Power Broom Lubrication
Lubricate Tire Spindle Tube
Was the tire spindle tube lubricated?
Lubricate Wheel Axle Bearing
Was the wheel axle bearing lubricated?
Lubricate Rotor Bearing
Was the rotor bearing lubricated?
Broom Rotor Replacement
Attach the power broom to the power unit
Lower the broom to the ground and place the power unit’s primary SDLA lever in the float position
Remove the 3) 3/8” x 1” carriage bolts and flange nuts (A) from the idler end bracket (B)
Remove the idler end bracket from the main frame bracket
Start the power unit and raise the broom just enough to pull the broom rotor to the left and off the drive hub on the right side hydraulic motor
Pull the idler hub out of the left end of the rotor tube (may require prying)
Install the idler hub into the new broom rotor
Slide the broom rotor onto the drive hub on the hydraulic motor
Install the idler end bracket onto the broom rotor and then lower the broom until the holes in the idler end bracket match up with those in the main frame bracket
Power Broom Removal
Cleaning and Inspection
Clean the broom to remove any accumulated dust or debris
Inspect the broom as instructed in the daily inspection section of this manual
Functionality Testing
Test the broom to ensure all components are working properly
Drive Belt Replacement
Preparation
Detach the power broom from the power unit
Drive Belt Removal
Remove the drive pulley shield (A)
Remove the old drive belt
Drive Belt Installation
Install the new drive belt over the pulley
Replace the drive pulley shield
Post Replacement Check
Hydraulic Oil Level Check
Preparation
Park the power broom on a level surface
Allow time for the hydraulic system to cool, if necessary
Oil Level Inspection
Remove the oil fill cap from the top of the oil tank
Check the level of oil in the tank (should be approximately 4” or 10 cm below the top of the fill tube)
Oil Refill
Is the hydraulic oil level low?
Add Ventrac HydroTorq XL synthetic hydraulic oil until the proper level is reached
