Lift Cylinder Inspection
Note:
- If there is oil leakage from the dust seal on rod guide, this is caused by defective “U” packing in piston and will be accompanied by natural drop.
- Wash all parts and repair or replace those found defective.
1. Lift cylinder inspection:
(1) Sliding injury or wear in cylinder bore.
(2) Scoring or rusting on sliding surfaces.
(3) Local strong contact on sliding surface.
(4) Cylinder deformation.
2. Piston rod inspection:
Mast Clearance Inspection
Operate the mast and check for defective places
Check the mast lift roller clearances
Do the mast lift roller clearances exceed the limit?
If the clearances exceed the limit, remove the mast and repair or replace as necessary
Can the correction be made by adjusting the lift roller clearances?
If the correction can be made by adjusting the clearances, make the adjustment on vehicle
Sign off on the mast clearance inspection
Lift Bracket Inspection
Note: Inspect the disassembled parts to see if worn, damaged, bent, cracked, or otherwise defective, and repair or replace all faulty parts found.
1. Lift roller inspection.
2. Side roller inspection. (FBCA30 series)
3. Lift bracket inspection:
(1) Bent fork rail.
(2) Cracks in welded parts.
Note: It would be desirable to have the welded parts inspected with flaw detector or flaw detecting penetrant.
(3) Damages in fork carrier
4. Lift roller pins.;

Inspect the bushings for interior bore sliding surface showing contacting and roughened to degree that will catch fingernail
Inspect the bushings for numerous mars on side surfaces in axial direction of degrees that will catch fingernail
Inspect the bushings for scars on bore sliding surface or on side surface indicating foreign matter had lodged in

Measure the electrolyte specific gravity
How to use the hydrometer:
Insert the hydrometer nozzle into the filler hole, and draw out the electrolyte into the outer tube.
Float the hydrometer properly within the outer tube so that it is free and not touching the upper or bottom part of the outer tube.
After allowing the bubbles in the drawn out fluid to die out, read the graduation at the part protruding above the electrolyte as shown in the illustration.
After measuring, wash the inner and outer side of the hydrometer with clean water (preferably refined water) and wipe dry with a cloth before storing. Do the same with the thermometer.
Is the electrolyte turbid or contains impurity?
If defective, take proper measures in accordance with procedures in Trouble Shooting.
