Rear Axle Inspection
(2FBCA10, 13, 15 Series)
Important: After cleaning and washing the components, inspect the following parts and replace if defective. Visually inspect each bearing and rotate them to check for possible noise, looseness or damage.
1. Steering knuckle:
(1) Cracks or damage of the knuckle’s spindle-mounting portion, threaded portion, etc.
Note: A flaw detector or flaw detection solvent (red check) are recommended for the inspection.
2. King pin:
(1) King pin wear or damage.
Diameter standard: 28.0 mm (1.120")
Diameter wear limit: 27.8 mm (1.112")
Chain Wheel Inspection
Inspect the following items, and repair or replace defective parts found;
1. Chain wheel inspection:
(1) Crack or damage in chain wheels.
(2) Defective rotating condition, abnormal noise, or looseness in bearings.
Note: Chain wheels are of grease-sealed type so that care must be taken not to soak them in cleaning solvent. Merely wipe clean the inner and outer rings with piece of waste.
2. Snap ring inspection:
(1) Excessive spread in snap ring.
(2) Damage in snap ring groove.;
Charger Voltage Inspection
Warning: Most of the inspection measurement is made with the charger power source connected and the timer turned on, so that extreme caution should be taken not to accidentally touch any terminals as severe shock or unexpected trouble may arise.
Charger functional parts drawn out, side cover opened, and battery plug disconnected
Charger cover removed
Charger connected to the power source, power turned on, and timer set to “ON”
MSCH contacts closed and PLCH light turned on after setting the timer
Power supply voltage (phase voltages) at the MSCH terminals (R, S, T)
Check for missing phase in power supply voltage
Check for open circuit in charger cable
No-load secondary voltages at radiation block terminals (U, V, W)
Steering Power Cylinder Inspection
1. Inspect the power cylinder for damage or wear in the sliding surfaces.
Note: When using a bore gauge, measure the wear and out-of-round at place about 200 mm from the cylinder edge.
Cylinder bore. Standard:
- 2FBCA15, 20, 25 series – 40 mm (1.600")
- FBCA30 series – 50 mm (2.000")
Limit:
- 2FBCA15, 20, 25 series – 40.2 mm (1.608")
- FBCA30 series – 50.2 mm (2.008")
2. Inspect the piston rod for bending and damage.
