Refractor / Slit Lamp Arm / Keratometer Arm Counterbalance Brake Adjustment
Preparation
Ensure the equipment is powered off
Locate the diagonal arm with three black screws
Adjustment Procedure
Lower or raise the arm slowly until the small Hex screw is aligned with the access hole in the arm housing
Activate the brake
Turn the Hex screw clockwise approximately 1/4 turn
Is the resistance adequate when the brake is fully activated and the auxiliary arm is pressed down?
Re-adjustment

Pre-Maintenance Preparation
Disconnect the main power cord prior to performing any service.
Function and Safety Checks
Read the User Manual to verify the IS-2500 functions.
Check that all cords and/or cables are securely connected and that the green power LED comes on when the system power button is pressed.
Fuse Replacement
Are there any blown fuses?
If fuses need replacement
Turn power switch off and unplug the power cord plug from the wall outlet.

Preparation
Remove the black plastic panel by unscrewing the (2) round-head Hex screws
Lock the instrument arm at its maximum elevated position
Adjustment of Refractor Arm
Insert the end of a 5/32 Hex wrench into the castellated (slotted) part of the nut
Direction to turn the nut for adjustment
Adjustment of Optional Middle Arm
Insert the end of a 3/16 Hex wrench into the castellated (slotted) part of the nut
