1 Yearly Dryer Molecular Sieve Testing
Initial Inspection
Is there a large percentage of broken pellets or dust?
Is there contamination from foreign matter?
Are most of the pellets discolored?
Desiccant Regeneration
Regenerate a sample of desiccant in an oven at 600°F / 316°C for about two hours.
Place the desiccant into an air tight jar and allow it to cool down to room temperature for a minimum of 12 hours.
Temperature Testing
Pour 30ml of water into a small glass and record the temperature using a mercury thermometer.
Dryer Desiccant Bed Maintenance
Read instructions completely before attempting to remove the beds.
Set Off/Auto/On switch to On
Set key switch to 'Adjust Setpoints'
Remove side panels
Follow the procedure in Section 8.2 'Forcing a Bed Index'
Remove the 4CR (bed shift relay) from its socket
Place a 1” block inside of the upper and lower air cylinders
Remove the compressed air from the unit
Ensure bed seals are far enough away from the beds to slide them out
Initial Blower Motor Rotation Check
Pre-Check Preparation
Ensure the unit is powered off before starting the check.
Verify that the Blower Rotation Alarm is installed on the unit.
Blower Motor Rotation Check
Is the Blower Rotation Alarm activated?
Is the alarm light on and displaying a message on the digital readout?
Manual Rotation Check (if no alarm)
Remove the side panel to access the process blower motor.
Is the process blower motor rotating clockwise?
6 Monthly Dryer Maintenance
Check that all components are in place
Electrical Checks
Enter the amp draw of heaters
Enter the amp draw of blower motors
Refer to wiring diagram, insert, and individual motor nameplate for specifications
Blower Motor Rotation Check
Initial Checks
Ensure the unit is powered off before starting the procedure.
Verify that the Blower Rotation Alarm is present on the unit.
Blower Motor Rotation Verification
Is the Blower Rotation Alarm activated?
Is the alarm light on and message displayed on the digital readout?
Manual Rotation Check (if no alarm present)
Remove the side panel of the dryer.
Is the process blower motor rotating clockwise?
