Modular System Controller Cleaning
Air Inlet and Outlet Cleaning
Use a soft brush to clear any dust from the air inlet openings on the sides of the cabinets.
Use a soft brush to clear any dust from the air outlet openings on the sides of the cabinets.
Filter Mat Replacement
Check the condition of the filter mats on the air inlet and outlet openings
Replace contaminated or clogged filter mats immediately.
Cooling Efficiency Check
Ensure air inlet and outlet openings are clean for sufficient cooling of power supply units.
Is the environment harsh (dust, abrasion, etc.)?
Filter Mat Replacement
Preparation
Disconnect the MSC800 from the supply voltage
Accessing Filter Mats
Loosen all covers of the air inlet and outlet openings on both sides of the cabinets and fold downwards
Release the lock by pulling the blue function logo in the louvered grills slightly upwards
Filter Mat Replacement
Remove used filter mats and replace with new ones
Finalization
Fold up the covers and press down until the lock engages audibly
Power Supply Unit Module Replacement
Safety Precautions
Ensure only qualified and authorized service personnel from SICK AG perform the repair work
Comply with standard safety requirements when working on electrical plants
Switch off the supply voltage to the MSC800
Disconnect and remove all cables from the power supply unit module
Dismantle the defective power supply unit module from the cabinet of the MSC800
Lift the power supply unit module and pull it forward and out of the bracket
Install the new power supply unit module
Reconnect all the cables to the power supply unit module
Logic Unit Battery Replacement
NOTE: Risk of damage to the MSC800. Repair work on the MSC800 may only be performed by qualified and authorized service personnel from SICK AG.
Battery Replacement
Remove black plastic cover on the logic unit.
Remove the battery from the bracket and replace it with a new type CR2032 (3 V) battery.
Put the black plastic cover back in place.
Battery Disposal
Dispose of the old battery as hazardous waste as per the ROHS directives (Europe).
System Time Reset
Connect the MSC800 to the SOPAS-ET configuration software.
Optical Effect Surfaces Cleaning
Preparation
Ensure the system is powered off
Gather cleaning materials (soft cloth, cleaning solution)
Cleaning Process
Inspect the optical effect surfaces for contamination
Apply cleaning solution to the soft cloth
Gently wipe the optical effect surfaces with the cloth
Verify that all contamination has been removed from the surfaces
Post-Cleaning Inspection
