Optical Effect Surfaces Cleaning
Preparation
Ensure the system is powered off
Gather cleaning materials (soft cloth, cleaning solution)
Cleaning Process
Inspect sensors for visible contamination
Apply cleaning solution to the soft cloth
Gently wipe the optical effect surfaces of the sensors
Check for any remaining contamination
Post-Cleaning Verification
Logic Unit Battery Replacement
NOTE: Risk of damage to the MSC800. Repair work on the MSC800 may only be performed by qualified and authorized service personnel from SICK AG.
Battery Replacement
Remove black plastic cover on the logic unit.
Remove the battery from the bracket and replace it with a new type CR2032 (3 V) battery.
Put the black plastic cover back in place.
Battery Disposal
Dispose of the old battery as hazardous waste as per the ROHS directives (Europe).
System Time Reset
Connect the MSC800 to the SOPAS-ET configuration software.
Power Supply Unit Module Replacement
Safety Precautions
Ensure only qualified and authorized service personnel perform the repair
Comply with standard safety requirements for electrical plants
Power Supply Unit Module Replacement Steps
Switch off the supply voltage to the MSC800
Disconnect and remove all cables from the power supply unit module
Note the assignment of cables to connections
Dismantle the defective power supply unit module from the cabinet of the MSC800
Use a suitable screwdriver to slide the black clip forward on the bottom of the power supply unit module
Logic Unit Replacement
NOTE: Risk of damage to the MSC800. Repair work on the MSC800 may only be performed by qualified and authorized service personnel from SICK AG.
Removing connecting cables
Switch off the supply voltage to the MSC800
Disconnect all male cable connectors, female cable connectors, and pluggable terminals from the logic unit and pull them out
Replacing the MSC800-0000 logic unit
Remove the memory card (SD 1) with the saved parameter set from the defective logic unit
Insert the memory card into the opening (SD 1) in the new logic unit
Dismantle the defective logic unit from the cabinet of the MSC800
Install the new logic unit into the cabinet of the MSC800 in the reverse order
Filter Mat Replacement
Preparation
Disconnect the MSC800 from the supply voltage
Ensure the fan wheels are safely shut down
Accessing Filter Mats
Loosen all covers of the air inlet and outlet openings on both sides of the cabinets
Fold covers downwards (maximum 70°)
Removing and Replacing Filter Mats
Release the lock by pulling the blue function logo upwards
Remove used filter mats and replace with new ones
