1 Yearly Air Compressor Maintenance
Pre-Maintenance Safety Checks
Ensure maintenance is performed by trained and qualified technicians only.

Wait for the unit to cool before starting service.
Clean up any fluid spills immediately.
Initial Checks and Preparations
Loosen, but do not remove, flange or component bolts to check for residual pressure.
Ensure no flammable solvents are used for cleaning air filters or compressor parts.

Preparation
Remove screws attaching control to door of enclosure
Remove and discard wire tie-wraps
Wiring Identification
Identify individual wire location before removing any wiring from the electronic control
Refer to the electrical wiring diagram
Installation
Install new electronic control panel
Install wiring in accordance with electrical wiring diagram
1 Monthly Belt Tension Check
Preparation
Ensure the Belt Tension Tester (P/N 142645) is available
Rotate pulleys a minimum of 2 revolutions before taking measurements
Belt Tension Measurement
Measure the span length (t)
Position the large o-ring
Find amount of deflection force on the upper scale of the tension tester
Is the deflection force within the recommended range?
Tighten belts if deflection force is less than minimum recommended
Belt Replacement
Preparation
Lock out and tag out the electrical power supply
Remove panels and guards to gain access to belt drive area
Belt Removal and Inspection
Release tension on belts by loosening locknut (1) and backing off jackbolt (2)
Remove existing belts (and discard, if replacing)
Check sheaves for nicks, wear, and misalignment before reinstalling belts
Inspect new (or used) belts for defects or damage before installation

Open enclosure door
Removal of Old Transducer
Remove wire channel cover
Trace wires from transducer to the microprocessor
Disconnect transducer wires at microprocessor
Remove transducer from Teflon bushing
Installation of New Transducer
Install new Teflon bushing
