Air Intake Filter Element Servicing

Service the air intake filter element under the following conditions

Clean the filter element by washing in a warm water solution of household detergent

Enter the number of times the filter element has been washed

Is the filter element due for discarding after six washings?

Ensure a spare filter element is available to minimize machine downtime

Is the safety element due for changing (once a year)?

Discard the used safety element as it is not reusable

Ensure the carbon washer is not dropped or scratched

Ensure the seal seat is not scratched

Oil the outer surface of the seal seat 'O' ring (do not use grease)

Push the seal seat with 'O' ring into the seal adapter squarely and firmly

Place the spring holder on the shaft and push it down on the input shaft bearing

Check conditions for separator change

Turn off the machine and ensure it is safe to work on

Remove the old air/oil separator

Install the new air/oil separator

Check for leaks after installation

Restart the machine and ensure proper operation

Record the date and operational hours of the separator change

Check the oil level using the float type liquid oil level gauge

Change the oil after 1000 hours of operation

Replace the oil filter elements under the following conditions

Record the current operating hours of the compressor

Has the compressor operated for 2000 hours since the last oil change?

Change the oil if the compressor has operated for 2000 hours or more

Is the oil filter warning light on the instrument panel activated?

Replace the oil filter if the warning light is activated

Has it been 6 months since the last oil filter replacement?

Replace the oil filter if it has been 6 months since the last replacement
