Initial 40 Hours Pump Lubrication
Oil Level Check
Check the oil level using the dipstick
Is the oil level adequate?
Oil Change
Use Hypro Oil (P/N 2160-0038) for lubrication
Enter the amount of oil added (in fl. oz.)
Post Lubrication Check
Is the lubrication marked on the crankcase followed?
Verify that the oil change is performed after 40 hours of break-in operation
Caviation Check
Water Flow Test
Time taken to fill the test container (in seconds)
Required gallons per minute (GPM) for the system
Does the water supply exceed the required GPM?
Preventive Measures for Cavitation
Ensure the following preventive measures are in place
Vacuum Check
Measure the vacuum at the suction side (in inches of Hg)
Is the vacuum within the 2-3 inches of Hg range?
Plunger Replacement
Pump Head Removal
Remove the pump head from the crankcase as described in the packing replacement section.
Plunger Removal
Remove the plunger retaining nut.
Carefully slide the plunger off of the lower plunger.
Remove the o-ring from the lower plunger.
Remove the plunger retaining nut and slinger ring.
Plunger Inspection
Inspect the plungers for cracking or damage.
Valve Assembly Replacement
Disassembly
Remove the valve cap (Figure 9, Ref. 1)
Remove the valve assembly (Ref. 3) from the head using needle nose pliers
Remove the o-ring (Ref. 4) from below the valve assembly
Remove the o-ring (Ref. 2) from the valve cap
Reassembly
Reassemble the parts by reversing the disassembly steps
Torque Specifications
Select the series of the valve cap for torque specification
Oil Seal Replacement
Oil Seal Replacement for 2200B-P and 2300B-P Series
Tools Required
Ensure the following tools are available
Oil Drain and Disassembly
Drain the oil from the crankcase using a 9/16" hex wrench
Remove the cylinder head
Remove the plunger retaining nuts with a 9/16" hex wrench
Remove the plungers and slinger rings
