System Purging
Use a low pressure (below 5 PSI), high volume blower for air purging
Freeze Protection
Drain all water from pump and piping when expecting freezing temperatures or when storing pump for a long time
Keep motor dry and covered during storage
Ensure pump is not covered with plastic to avoid condensation/corrosion problems
Drain Cover Inspection
WARNING
Inspect all covers for cracks, damage, and advanced weathering.
Is any cover loose, cracked, damaged, broken, or missing?
Immediate Actions if Issues Found
Close the pool or spa immediately.
Shut off the pump.
Post a notice about the closure.
Keep the pool or spa closed until an appropriate certified cover is properly installed.
Replace drain covers as necessary due to deterioration from sunlight, pool chemicals, and weather.

Turn OFF power to motor before draining pump
Pump down water level below all inlets to the pool
Trap Cover and Piping System
Remove trap cover
Use low pressure air to blow accumulated water from the piping system
Cap inlet piping after draining to keep water out of the pipes
Pump and Trap Maintenance
Remove trap cover and drain the tank body through the drain plugs
Trap Basket Cleaning
Safety Precautions
Ensure the pump is stopped and all valves in suction and discharge are closed.
Confirm all pressure is released from the system before proceeding.
Verify the strainer pot temperature is cool to touch before opening.
Trap Basket Cleaning Procedure
Remove trap cover handle ring by turning counterclockwise. Use a rubber mallet if necessary.
Remove and clean the strainer basket. Ensure all holes are clear and flush with water.
Reinstall the strainer basket with the large opening at the pipe connection port.
Inspect the lid O-Ring and reinstall on trap.
