Turn OFF power to motor before draining pump

Pump down water level below all inlets to the pool

Use low pressure air to blow accumulated water from the piping system

Cap inlet piping after draining to keep water out of the pipes

Remove trap cover and drain the tank body through the drain plugs

Ensure the pump is stopped and all valves in suction and discharge are closed.

Confirm all pressure is released from the system before proceeding.

Verify the strainer pot temperature is cool to touch before opening.

Remove trap cover handle ring by turning counterclockwise. Use a rubber mallet if necessary.

Remove and clean the strainer basket. Ensure all holes are clear and flush with water.

Verify the basket is replaced correctly with the large opening at the pipe connection port.

Clean and inspect the lid O-Ring and reinstall on trap.

Describe any observed cracks, damage, or weathering on the covers

Is any cover loose, cracked, damaged, broken, or missing?

Close the pool or spa if any cover is compromised

Shut off the pump if any cover is compromised

Post a notice if any cover is compromised

Replace drain covers as necessary

Check that all suction outlet covers are maintained and correctly installed

Ensure the use of a low pressure (below 5 PSI), high volume blower when air purging the pump, filter, or piping.

Ensure pump is not allowed to freeze to avoid damage and voiding warranty.

Do not use anti-freeze solutions except propylene glycol in the pool/spa system.

Preparation for Freezing Temperatures or Long-term Storage

Drain all water from pump and piping.

Keep motor dry and covered during storage.

Avoid covering pump with plastic to prevent condensation/corrosion problems.
