Inspect the switch housing cover for any damage or misplacement.

Is the switch housing cover in place?

Ensure the switch housing cover is securely in place before cleaning.

Clean the exterior of the switch housing to remove dust and dirt.

Verify the condition of the following components

Is there any sign of moisture or corrosive gas infiltration?

Unpacking and Initial Inspection

Unpack the instrument carefully

Report any concealed damage to carrier within 24 hours

Check the contents of the packing slip and purchase order

Record the serial number for future reference when ordering parts

Ensure no force is placed on fragile components

Ensure the instrument is used in Installation Category II, Pollution Degree 2.

Handle displacer spring and stem with care to avoid damage.

Displacer Adjustment and Installation

Adjust displacers on the cable for desired switch actuating levels.

Screw displacer cable fitting to the threaded connection link on the control.

Ensure no obstacles in the tank or vessel interfere with displacer operation.

Is a guide pipe or tube necessary due to liquid turbulence?

Ensure enclosing tube is tightened and middle set screw is locked to the enclosing tube.

Is the control equipped with a pneumatic switch mechanism?

Loosen set screw(s) at base of switch housing.

Rotate switch housing to desired conduit entry position.

Tighten set screws at base of housing.

Unscrew and remove switch housing cover.

Inspect for excessive wear on actuating lever or misalignment of adjustment screw

Refer to switch mechanism bulletin if adjustment or replacement is necessary

Inspect insulation on electrical wiring for brittleness

Replace wiring at first sign of brittle insulation

Check all terminal connections for loose screws

Tighten any loose terminal screws
