Inspect the switch housing cover for any damage or misplacement

Check the seals for any signs of wear or damage

Ensure the switch housing cover is in place before cleaning

Clean the exterior of the switch housing to remove dust and dirt

Is the switch mechanism operating without interference?

Is the housing cover securely in place after cleaning?

Ensure the instrument is used in Installation Category II, Pollution Degree 2.

Handle displacer spring and stem with care to avoid damage.

Displacer Adjustment and Installation

Adjust displacers on the cable for desired switch actuating levels.

Screw displacer cable fitting to the threaded connection link.

Ensure no obstacles in the tank or vessel interfere with displacer operation.

Determine if a guide pipe or tube is necessary due to liquid turbulence.

Unpacking and Initial Inspection

Unpack the instrument carefully

Report any concealed damage to carrier within 24 hours

Check the contents against the packing slip and purchase order

Record the serial number for future reference

Ensure displacer assembly is removed before reshipping

Ensure the set screw is loosened before repositioning the conduit connection.

Is the control equipped with a pneumatic switch mechanism?

Loosen set screw(s) at base of switch housing.

Rotate switch housing to desired conduit entry position.

Tighten set screws at base of housing.

Unscrew and remove switch housing cover.

Inspect for excessive wear on actuating lever or misalignment of adjustment screw

Refer to switch mechanism bulletin if adjustment or replacement is necessary

Check for Defective or Maladjusted Switch Mechanisms

Is the switch mechanism defective or maladjusted?

Refer to bulletin on switch mechanisms for service instructions

Check for brittle insulation on electrical wiring

Replace wiring at the first sign of brittle insulation
