Verify that boiler area is free of any combustible materials, gasoline, and other flammable vapors and liquids.

Verify that air intake area is free of contaminants listed in Section 1 of the manual.

If contaminants are present, were they removed or air and vent lines reinstalled as per the manual?

Check pressure/temperature gauge

Record the pressure reading from the gauge.

Record the temperature reading from the gauge.

Is the pressure within the normal operating range?

Visually inspect the entire flue gas venting system and air piping for blockage, deterioration or leakage.

Repair any joints that show signs of leakage.

Verify that air inlet pipe is connected and properly sealed.

Verify that boiler vent discharge and air intake are clean and free of obstructions.

General Inspection and Cleaning

Inspect interior; clean and vacuum if necessary

Clean condensate trap and fill with fresh water

Inspect the condensate drain line, condensate PVC fittings, and condensate trap

Remove the PVC cap retaining screw from the PVC cap

Remove the 2 inch PVC cap with the switch located at the top of the trap

Remove any sediment in the trap

Test low water cutoff (if used)

Reset button (low water cutoff)

Remove the front access cover and inspect the interior of the boiler.

Vacuum any sediment from inside the boiler and components.

Remove any obstructions from the boiler interior.

Inspect all water and gas piping and verify to be leak free

Look for signs of leaking lines and correct any problems found

Check gas line using the procedure found in Section 7 - Gas Connections
