250 Hourly / 1 Monthly Battery Electrolyte Level Check

Check mark

WARNING: Do not use the battery if the electrolyte level is below the LOWER LEVEL line. This will accelerate deterioration inside the battery, reduce its service life, and may cause an explosion.

Check mark

The battery generates flammable gas. Do not bring fire or sparks near the battery.

Check mark

Battery electrolyte is dangerous. If it gets in your eyes or on your skin, wash it off with plenty of water and consult a doctor.

Check mark

When adding distilled water, do not allow the electrolyte to go above the UPPER LEVEL line. Excess electrolyte may leak, damage paint, or corrode other parts.

Check mark

NOTICE: If there is danger of the electrolyte freezing, add distilled water before starting operations the next day.

Check mark

Is the electrolyte level between UPPER LEVEL (U.L.) and LOWER LEVEL (L.L.)?

Check mark

If the level is below the midpoint of U.L. and L.L., remove cap (1) and add distilled water.

Check mark

After adding water, is cap (1) tightened securely?

Check mark

REMARK: If water exceeds the U.L. line, use a syringe to lower it. Neutralize removed fluid with baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) and flush with water, or consult your Komatsu distributor or battery maker.
